Can Workforce Development get me a job?

Workforce Development can refer you to any job openings that we are aware of, and our staff can assist you during the process of searching for a job. We offer job search training every month. The training consists of two three-hour sessions. Staff can also assist with the preparation of resumes, and completing applications. Plus, participants have access to resources such as telephones, fax machine, copy machine, computer, and internet.

How is it decided which participants will receive certain services?

The services provided depend on the individual’s situation. Each situation is different and clients should never expect the same services as fellow participants.  Several things have to be taken into consideration, such as the participation, requirement fulfillment, progress, and the amount of funds the participant qualifies for.

Does the program offer accomodations for people with disabilities or special needs?

Staff will be happy to accomodate any special needs our clients may have. Don’t hesitate to ask for assistance or learning tools that may help you in receiving the best possible service from Workforce Development.

What trainings are offered through Workforce Development?

Training available depends on what the client is interested in. It is important for you to research what training you wish to attend, what schools offer such training and if those schools are on our provider list. You are welcome to come into our resource room to use the computers and the internet to conduct this research. However, you should take into consideration that not all participants will attend training. Participants that need to obtain skills necessary to find employment will recieve training. Many participants already have the skills necessary, they just need assistance through out their job search.

Do I have to know English to participate in this program?

The level of English required depends on which services the client is requesting. If clients plan on going to training, the training provider may require that they know English. However, clients are encouraged and welcome to receive core services, any they may be referred to English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at no cost.

Trainings need to be on the Arizona Provider List (AZ Heat).
