What is the Grants & Funding Registry?
- Maximize the potential for soliciting public and private funds;
- Develop a central internet based system to record all grant applications submitted to funding agencies by government units, and community agencies and organizations located within and outside of Santa Cruz County;
- Maximize the potential for providing sustainability for current and proposed programs;
- Develop a cohesive and comprehensive method for consolidated approaches to seeking outside funding for local projects; and
- Provide sustainability for local organizations, agencies and businesses to participate in funding opportunities where opportunities otherwise might not exist.
- TRACK the use of Santa Cruz County demographic information (including but not limited to categories of population, income, poverty level, educational levels, language spoken, race, and ethnicity) cited by potential grantees in their proposed grant applications to show the need for the project when applying for funding opportunities;
- HOLD ACCOUNTABLE those grantees who are recipients of state and federally funded opportunities/grants whereby said funds were awarded to grantee based on the grantee’s ability to demonstrate need for the project and citing demographics pertinent to residents of Santa Cruz County as rational for and contributing to the need of the project;
- INCREASE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES for local government units, and community agencies and organizations to fully participate in state and federal discretionary grant programs in par with neighboring communities and to the extent possible; and
- MONITOR PERFORMANCE BASED MEASUREMENT OUTCOMES of grant programs funded by state and/or federal discretionary grant programs whereby the grantee, as a condition of the state and/or federal funding award, promised to deliver said services to residents located in Santa Cruz County and as noted in the grantee’s filed grant application with the funding grantor.
