Youth Services
The WIA Title I Youth Program enhances the basic educational skills of youth; to encourage school comletion or enrollment in supplementary or alternative school programs; to provide youth with exposure to the world of work; and to enhance citizenship and leadership skills. Individuals must be ages 14-21 and meet necessary eligibility requirements.
- Santa Cruz Youth Connect The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998 established the Youth Council to serve as a subcommittee of the Workforce Investment Board. Under the Act, the Youth Council provides a unique opportunity for a local community to create, through a common vision, a system of activities and services, such as Youth Connect, that will enable youth to succeed both in school and in the workplace, thus making them leaders in their community.
